Linda Mar, Jan 29
I was greeted by large crowds and low winds with nice soft rolling waves. The crowd was friendly and largely comprised of beginner surfers and their more experienced friends. It was easy to get waves, and I caught many, catching my groove within the first hour of two and a half. It was awesome, and the whole experience was a great example of maximizing the ratio of doing fun things to travel. It was less than an hour each way to the beach, and I had the rest of the late afternoon at home.

Skiing in Utah, Jan 21-24
I'm pretty busy, so I'll just throw my GoPro edit out there from Tuesday. Fwiw, I DID send Punk Rock (off of Wildcat) the day before; I was just too tired to send it for the video! :)

Bolinas, Jan 15
I bought a board! It is a cheap-ish 8'2" epoxy thing from NSP, but it is a good one to learn on. A bunch of us went up to Bolinas and had a great time, but there was a very strong onshore wind, which made the conditions a bit sucky and uncomfortable. Good times none-the-less!

Surfing in Bolinas, Jan 7
Bolinas is a well-hidden, sleepy hippie town north of San Francisco with friendly waves and a surly surfshop owner. It was an ideal place to get on a surfboard since it has been so long since I've been on anything but a bodyboard. I caught 5-6 waves with moderate success, which was quite surprising.
